Der 31. März 2012 ist vorbei und das Internet funktioniert nach wie vor. Ist es ein Wunder oder einfach nur ein technisches Versagen? Kurz: Operation Global Blackout fand nicht statt oder man hat versagt. Oder viel besser: Die Vernunft hat gewonnen. In jedem Fall ist es so besser, denn das FBI wartete so vergeblich auf die Erkenntnisse. Niemand griff an. Mag es auch daran gelegen haben, dass der 31. März ein Samstag war. Eventuell waren wir allen zu sehr mit dem Einkaufen beschäftigt? Wir waren alle shoppen und ausnahmsweise nicht im Netz? Eine zwar absurde aber durchaus reale Vorstellung. […]

Die CDS Fliege

Der griechische Schuldenschnitt mit den Privatgläubigern ist endgültig vollbracht. Ungefähr 86 Prozent stimmten dem notwendigen Schuldenschnitt zu. Alles in allem ein gutes Ergebnis und noch kein CDS-Fall. Doch Griechenland wollte mehr und kündigte an, die restlichen 14 Prozent über den Gesetzesweg zu einem Schuldenschnitt zu zwingen. Dies nun machte den griechischen Fall zum CDS-Fall. Auch wenn die International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) zunächst zögerlich reagiert hatte. Mehr als 700 Milliarden Euro in Form von CDS wurden fällig. Seit Monaten ging die Angst um, dass der CDS-Fall Europa zum Einsturz bringen wird. Sogar viele US-Banken zitterten, verkauften sie doch europäische CDS in großen Mengen. Der Schaden in den USA wäre in die Billionen gegangen. Zu viel, um sie staatlich auffangen zu können. […]

Am 31. März sollen im Internet die Lichter ausgehen. Mit einem Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Angriff auf die 13 explizit benannten Root-Server des Internets wollen einige Aktivisten der Anonymous-Gruppe das Internet zumindest temporär deaktivieren. Es soll vor allem ein Protest gegen jenes SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) der USA und gegen die Wallstreet im Allgemeinen sein. Durch das Ausschalten dieser Server soll das sogenannte Domain Name Lookup verhindert werden. Jene Funktion ist für Http Request unentbehrlich. Gibt man dann eine URL in seinen Browser ein, erscheint im besten Fall die 404-Site des Clients. […]

Anonymous wieder im Blitzkrieg

Wie schon Anfang Januar 2012 führten Mitglieder innerhalb der Gruppe Anonymous einen Angriff auf Websites der rechten Szene im Netz aus. Das Onlineversandhaus der NPD „Deutsche Stimme“ wurde dabei von den Hackern kräftig umgestaltet. Zusätzlich konnten die Aktivisten weitere 1.100 Kundendaten erbeuten, um diese dann über Twitter zum Download freizugeben. So mancher rechte Schweiger wird sich dabei ertappt gefühlt haben.
